So colorful, quirky, joyful, and full of inventive rhythms and compelling compositions. It’s likely that a good portion of my love for electronic music is attributable to this record, as it really dazzled me on my first hearing years ago, and showed me how much friendly and fantastical personality could be packed into electro-acoustic recordings. Really appeals as an album, too: the tracklist flows beautifully, and weaves a world which feels cohesive while being versatile and brimming with character. Also, the 2021 remaster was a winning move, as the higher-definition audio makes the listening experience more immersive.
