Royalty-Free Beats

What is this? ...

RFB, short for “Royalty-Free Beats”, is a collection of instrumentals that I created, all of which you’re free to download, sample, and use for any purpose. The name plays in contrast to the idea that royalty-free music is low quality by providing a set of pieces which offer colorful soundscapes, intricate grooves, and hi-fi sonics.

The pieces in this collection focus primarily on rhythm; this is in contrast to my other work, such as in the Sketchbook series, which focuses more on harmony.

The goal of this collection is to provide a tasting-menu for my production aesthetics, so that people looking to work with me can get a sense of my style and capabilities. Pieces vary widely in the kinds of timbres, rhythmic patterns, composition methods, effects, mixing techniques, etc. that you’ll hear, as do the disks: a good menu presents many flavors.

Note that much of the music in RFB is intentionally kept brief: pieces are mostly intended as previews instead of long, multi-stage compositions like you’d find in my other work.
